DEBIT CARD SECURITY
Has your card stopped working while you were out of town, on vacation, or it was the weekend? That is so frustrating!!
Do we have a current cell phone number for you?
Our fraud tracking department monitors transactions for potential fraudulent transactions and will try to call you if the pattern looks suspicious. If you can’t be reached, your card will be blocked until you reach out to us.
We don’t want you to be inconvenienced or embarrassed at a merchant. Call us today to make sure that we have your phone number on file.
BOARD OPENINGS FOR 2011
Time for re-election preparations again! Any persons interested in running for a Board of Directors position or an appointment to the Supervisory Committee, please send a request for nomination and a brief biography to the attention of Edith Phillips, c/o WESC Federal Credit Union at 155 W Collins Dr, Casper WY 82601.
JULY 12 IS PARADE DAY!
Each year your credit union closes its doors for the morning of the kick off to the Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo – the parade. It started off as a necessity. Since we are so close to downtown Casper, our parking lot would fill up with people trying to park close to the parade route; people would even block our drive up lanes! Well, we couldn’t compete with the flood of parade watchers and so we decided to join them. This year will mark our 6th year having a float entry in the parade.
Watch for our Monopoly float and our new account opening special! Some new member will have the chance to win $200!!
STATE FAIR AND RODEO
WESC will be participating again this year as a sponsor of one of the rodeo arena chutes and as we have for the past two years, we will be out at parade time with FREE refreshments for parade watchers! Stop by and say hello to Shanna and Jolene. State Fair is August 13th through the 20th in Douglas.
SCHOOL SUPPLY COLLECTION
It’s just about that time for school to begin and with that our annual drive for school supplies to help the Salvation Army get the kids ready to go. We will have a collection box in the credit union lobby. Please pick up something extra when you’re rolling by that supply isle and bring it by.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
The Expedited Funds Availability Act (Act) sets forth requirements for the minimum amount of a check deposit that must be available for withdrawal by the following business day.
An amendment to the Act provides that this minimum amount must be increased from $100.00 to $200.00. Effective July 21, 2011, the WESC Federal Credit Union Funds Availability
Policy Disclosure is amended as follows:
RESERVATION OF RIGHT TO HOLD — In some cases, we will not make all of the funds that you deposit by check available to you on the next business day we receive your deposit. Funds may not be available until the second business day after the day of your deposit. However, the first $200.00 of your deposit will be available on the first business day after the day of your deposit. If we are not going to make all of the funds from your deposit available on the next business day, we will notify you at the time you make your deposit. We will also tell you when the funds will be available. If your deposit is not made directly to one of our employees or if we decide to take this action after you have left the premises, we will mail you the notice by the next business day after we receive your deposit. If you will need the funds from a deposit right away, you should ask us when the funds will be available.
Please retain this amendment with the original Funds Availability Policy Disclosure provided to you. You are welcome to contact the Credit Union with any questions you may have regarding this change. Thank you.

NOTICE OF CHANGES IN TEMPORARY NCUA INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR TRANSACTION ACCOUNTS
All funds in a “noninterest-bearing transaction account” are insured in full by the National Credit Union Administration through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to members under the NCUA's general share insurance rules.
The term “noninterest-bearing transaction account” includes a traditional share draft account (or demand deposit account) on which the insured credit union pays no interest or dividend. It does not include any transaction account that may earn interest or dividends, a negotiable order of withdrawal (“NOW”) account, money-market deposit account, and Interest on Lawyers Trust Account (“IOLTA”), even if share drafts may be drawn on the account. For more information about temporary NCUA insurance coverage of transaction accounts, visit www.ncua.gov.
